www.redesignme.org is a website where you can submit pictures or movies of products that you think have poor usability.

A bit similar to
www.thisisbroken.com, but redesignme.org seems to offer a little bit more control over the content to the users, and you can submit redesigns (as well as comments of course). And the whole thing has a YouTube-like look and feel to it.
At redesign.org they think that products are hard to use because they are designed by
engineers who are oblivious of what users want. It is not ill will, it is ignorance. And by having the website they hope to 'send a signal to industry'. I agree with the latter; it's always good to get/give feedback. However, on the first part (engineers being to blame etc.) I'll get back to you in a few months when I have completed my first case study on
usability in product development.

Great initiative. Also nice to see some Dutch examples going up :)
But the design/tech of the site is awful. It's all flash or something so that the back-button doesn't work, I constantly get blocked pop-up messages and the mousewheel doesn't work properly for scrolling...
But wait, I supposte I should go and post that on their site :-p.
Hi Bob, indeed you should post your comments about the design of the site on redesignme.org, and they actually have already submitted their own site for you to offer your comments. The whole flash setup of the site made it impossible for me to link to anything within the site... just an annoying detail for bloggers.
Whoops, didn't see that and went ahead and posted it again... :p
Crowdspirit.com tries to do something similar by the way. It's bit of a different setup but the experience is a lot better.
There's now a beta HTML version online for the pre-millennium people. ;-)
