Ideally, designers should be servants. Some think they are gods, and a few are considered to be gods by other designers. And in practice, they are in it for the money (well, they have to pay their rent, too. Does that make them prostitutes?).
Someone who's in it for the money is not necessarily a prostitute; could also be a lawyer or a banker ;-) But I'm guessing you're voting for answer d?
I would say all three at some point or the other.
